My CESSNA FRA150L - Aerobat
Back in October 2000, I purchased a half share of
an immaculate Cessna FRA150L from a friend not long after she had
the aircraft repainted and the avionics updated. I only had 100 hrs
P1 experience, but now I had my own (part share) aircraft I was able
to take longer more adventurous flights. Another more experienced
pilot friend of mine Robert came along on some flights to keep an
eye on me and we did trips to LeTouquet, Reims, Metz, Dinard as well
UK destinations. After a year part share Sue decided to not continue
flying and I purchased the other half becoming the full owner.
I moved south from Peterborough Sibson and after purchasing an excellent set of Cambrai covers Evy (as she become known as) moved to Popham airfield - due to the lack of hanger space she had to live outside. I continued my adventures in Evy with Jo my partner, with a few trips to France. Our most adventurous was Popham, Jersey, LaRochelle, SanSabastian, Zaragoza to Valencia. A fantastic trip that I have documented here. After the trip I decided I wanted a faster aircraft with a longer range and embarked on building a Vans RV7 in November 2004 (Here is my build site) finishing August 2006. I still enjoyed flying Evy as she is such a nice aircraft but another project beckoned ( My Great Lakes 2T-1A-2 ) and I decided to sell Evy in May 2007 - now with over 400hrs in my logbook. I am pleased to say she has gone to a good home in Ireland (Shannon). My Cessna 150 is famous!!!
They airbrushed the registration and my friend Richard (the passenger) out
